attitude decides everything. No matter what the end goal is, this mental attitude will either help you get there or hinder your progress, and one of the most destructive attitudes anyone can adopt is the victim mentality.

What is a victim mentality?

A victim mentality is a negative state of mind. It blames other people and circumstances for every inner misfortune. "It's the proverbial pointing scene.

Those involved in a victim mentality view life through a narrow pessimistic view, believing that everything that happens in life is the result of external causes. Internal reflections were never considered. To be a victim means to absolve oneself of guilt. Nothing is their fault - never! Most of the time, someone with a victim mentality gets attention, sympathy, and validation while playing this poor me role.

When we fall into victimhood, the focus is on how vulnerable we are, not how powerful we are.

When we fall into victimhood, the focus is on how vulnerable we are, not how powerful we are.

While no one is born with a victim mentality, no one is exempt from playing the victim role either. Sweet aging grandparents, loving, well-meaning parents, teenagers, and even those considered "spiritually awakened" can all live in this defeatist realm.

Virtually every living person has played the role of victim more than once in his life.

Victims want to be psychologically prepared for the worst, and unfortunately for those who live with them, this self-sabotaging behavior can become more intense.

So how do you get rid of this self-destructive, pessimistic, "poor me" programming, much of which is developed and inherited as a child?

It all starts with your perception/how you see yourself. Do you see yourself as a survivor or a victim?
